Batman: Arkham VR was announced this past June at E3, and this entirely new Batman game from Rocksteady is set to be released for the upcoming PlayStation VR headset.
We only got a short reveal trailer for this new title back then.
But a few lucky fans at Comic-Con got to try out the game, and their reactions have been paired with new footage to create this new trailer that you can watch below:
No surprises here — they all love the feeling of pretending to be Batman!
The only question that now remains is whether this is a complete VR experience or just a regular Batman game with some VR bits thrown in. After all, this is a new language that developers are still learning, and they may not be ready to deliver a full-fledged game this early.
In any case, here is the official synopsis for Batman: Arkham VR:
“Batman: Arkham VR immerses players into the Dark Knight’s universe as they experience Gotham City through the eyes of the World’s Greatest Detective. Delving deep into an all-new Batman: Arkham mystery, those who enter this virtual reality world must think like Batman and utilize his legendary gadgets to unravel a plot that threatens the lives of his closest allies.”
What’s really interesting here is that, according to reports, this game is really short.
Only about an hour.
Then again, it is only expected to retail for $19.99, and not at the full price. Which probably means that the developer is aiming to nail a shorter experience, before hopefully moving on to bigger and better things at the next try.
Batman: Arkham VR will be available for the PlayStation 4 with PlayStation VR in October 2016. No word yet on whether it will make its way to other VR platforms.
