In what has been one of the biggest weeks in gaming this year, the PlayStation VR has dominated the sales charts in the UK, along with PS VR games, and a handful of other high-profile titles.
Including the likes of WWE 2K17, Rise of the Tomb Raider as well as Gears of War 4.
But what will please Sony the most is that a host of PS VR titles have also fared very well in what has certainly been a tsunami of new releases that stormed the shores of the United Kingdom. In fact, no less than eight new entries were PlayStation VR games.
According to data provided by Chart-Track, an insane amount of 80 new games, accessories and peripherals made their way to store shelves, across all formats last week.
Included the in the peripherals column was the Sony PlayStation VR headset.
Now, only 13 new titles made their way into the top 40 across all formats in the United Kingdom, and as noted above, 8 of these were listed in the charts.
The five-in-one compilation PlayStation VR Worlds proved to be the biggest seller. And it was followed by Until Dawn: Rush of Blood, RIGS: Mechanized Combat League, EVE: Valkyrie, Driveclub VR, Battlezone, Loading Human: Chapter 1 and finally, Super Stardust Ultra VR.
Worth a mention that many other PlayStation VR games were download only, and these are not tracked by market research firms.
But overall, this has been a fairly excellent showing by the PS VR launch titles in one of the most important markets for gaming in the world. Let’s just hope the good work continues in the coming weeks and months.
